Tree Decay Detection – Resistograph Microdrill

James Fuller Arboriculture is always looking for better ways to provide our clients with expert advice on tree care and the health of their trees. We are now able to offer internal decay detection with the use of the IML-Resi Power Drill 300. This piece of equipment is known as a Resistograph and works by drilling a narrow drill bit into the tree at a constant rate. The drill records small changes of internal wood structure to be detected. The data is collected digitally and creates a digital graph on the device to aid in the identification of the quality of the timber. The results are also illustrated on a coloured graph and attached to any reports.

The Resi Power Drill 300 is an amazing piece of equipment that can be used for assessing decay in the roots, base of the tree or in the main structural branches as part of an aerial inspection.

The resistograph provides an assessment of the internal quality of the timber, which allows us to provide our clients with a detailed specification for tree management.
